Our Twitter account, along with our hashtag #AcademicChatter, has been bringing together academics from countries all over the world since 2017. This website is, in part, an extension of this community. It hosts a curated archive of our popular Anonymous Question tweets and information about past and upcoming #TwitterTakeovers, as well as a range of new and original content in the form of blog posts and academic book reviews.
The Academic Chatter blog seeks to cover all aspects of academic life from a variety of perspectives. Some key topics that we cover are:
- Academia (General)
- Organization and Planning
- Careers & Professionalization
- Mental Health
- Teaching and Pedagogy
- Technical and Research Skills
Our contributors are academics with a range of personal and professional experience, from graduate students to Professors. The variety of our contributions creates a lively space for discussion and centralises our core ethos of inclusivity and community.
In addition to our main platform, this website also hosts AC Review of Books. This is a dedicated space for reviews of academic books across disciplines. ACRoB publishes single-book reviews and longer review essays. Our reviews are commissioned from academics working in relevent fields. We also publish interviews with academic authors, articles relating to academic publishing/book reviewing, and artwork.
